Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Private Label Rights (PLR) Content?
Private Label Rights (PLR) content is done-for-you content. You buy the "non-exclusive license" and you can brand the content as your own—for example, to use in your blog, online courses, e-books, and other content products.
Stock photos are an example of PLR content—you pay for a license once and you can use the content in a variety of ways for as long as you want. You always keep 100% of the profits and you pay no royalties or continuing fees.
Licensed products are all over, but because they take on the brand of the buyer, we often don’t even know it.

Here are some examples:
- Herbal supplements
- Software
- Foods in your grocery store
- Hats
- T-shirts
- Footwear
- Fragrance
- And more…
Many top brands and top websites rely on licensing to develop new product categories and accelerate business growth. And customers don’t care if a product is licensed or not—they care if it fulfills their needs and helps them achieve their goals. You can learn even more about PLR here.

This content may be used, modified, and distributed as stated above without infringing on any plagiarism or copyright laws.
Why Should I Use Your PLR Content?
First, it’s important to know that not all PLR content is equal. Anyone can write content and sell the private label rights to it. In fact, we believe this is one reason why there is so much low-quality wellness content on the Internet.
Our PLR content, on the other hand, is based on academic research, is written by science writers with advanced training in psychology, and is reviewed by an expert with an advanced degree (usually a PhD). As a result, our PLR content is higher quality than 99% of content on the Internet (both PLR and non-PLR content).
Why Shouldn’t I Just Write My Own Content?
If you’ve written any of your own content, you already know it is super time-consuming and hard to do well (especially if you're reading and sourcing academic research studies). Plus, you’ve probably got a million other things you need to do to run and grow your business.
So every entrepreneur will eventually reach a point where they can no longer create all their content themselves. At this point, you’ll either need to hire someone or buy licensed content.
But hiring someone to create good content is super expensive--believe me, I know. When I worked as an expert content writer I charged a dollar per word or more. You heard me right. If you want a 700-word blog post written by an expert, it might cost you $700!

That’s why our PLR content is so valuable for wellness entrepreneurs. It’s high-quality, ridiculously affordable, and super quick to use.
Plus, it’s not like you can’t change things you don’t like. You can edit your content however you like, make it your own, or even transform it into something new. It truly is one of the best ways to deliver excellent content and grow your business exponentially. Read this article to discover all the ways you can use PLR content in your business.

Why Shouldn’t I Use Chat GPT (Or Other AI)?
Chat GPT and other content-writing AI suffers from the a classic “garbage in, garbage out” problem. "Garbage in, garbage out" is a coding term that means that if you put bad or incorrect information into a tool, that's exactly what it will spit out or produce.
Currently, content AI models are trained using data from all over the Internet. As I'm sure you know, the quality of content on the Internet varies from very poor to very good. So when you ask AI to write content, it mixes all this other content together to produce your new content. So, you don't know if the content you're getting is good or even accurate.
"Unless one is aware of ChatGPT's weaknesses, one might rely on very inaccurate and biased answers, and not know it." – Steve B.
These types of models especially struggle when it comes to understanding domain-specific language such as that used in psychology. For instance, AI might not understand the difference between Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (perhaps because most of the content used to build the AI was written by people who didn't understand this difference).
Our AI Experiment
We decided to test these assumptions out for ourself by using ChatGPT to "attempt to" write a few of our articles. We determined that ChatGPT is far from being being capable of producing the quality of content that we produce here.

More specially, in our test, ChatGPT produced inaccurate, unverifiable information and often incorrectly cited references to articles that did not even exist.
Given how important it is in our field to produce quality (and accurate) information, we've determined that Chat GPT is not up to our content standards, at least not yet. If you care about quality content —and providing information that helps your community — you'll likely want to avoid ChatGPT and other AI at this time.

What About Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is when you use someone else's content without their permission. When you purchase PLR content, you are buying permission (also known as Private Label Rights). You’ll get a license and can then use your content freely within the rules of the license (see license here).
Plus, all of our content is created in-house and from scratch by our team of science writers. So you can feel reassured that our content is always free from plagiarism.
What About Duplicate Content?
You don’t need to worry about duplicate content. In fact, many of the most popular websites use duplicate content.
For example, local news organizations license stories from Associated Press or Reuters and publish them largely unchanged. The same content is published on hundreds of sites on the same day.
In the wellness world, things are not that different. Popular sites like Psychology Today, Shinetext, and many others publish duplicate content.
Why does this help (and not hurt) these websites?
First, content that adds value will bring more people to your website—whether that’s through your blog, social media, newsletter, or Google search.
Second, Google doesn’t care if your content is published somewhere else. In fact, it's estimated that 25-30% of content on the Internet is duplicate content. Google learned how to filter and sort this content long ago.
You’ll never get penalized or removed from Google for having duplicate content.
Google simply rewards content that adds value to the search results. So if you’re interested in improving your rank on Google search, all you have to do is add value to your PLR content.

What Makes The Berkeley Well-Being Institute Different?
Dr. Tchiki Davis, founder of The Berkeley Well-Being Institute, earned an MA and PhD studying emotion and well-being. After graduating, she consulted and wrote content for wellness businesses and apps for 6 years.
She discovered that much of self-help and well-being content online is poor-quality, not backed by science, and potentially even harmful to readers.
So, she decided to combine her academic and industry knowledge to help anyone with a wellness website deliver excellent, science-based, high-impact content.
To ensure that our content is the highest quality possible, all of our writers have at least some advanced training in psychology beyond a BA degree. All content is then reviewed by an expert with an advanced degree (usually a PhD) and generally training even beyond a PhD.
Our writers read academic journal articles, interpret findings correctly, and translate these findings into information that benefits your readers. You get high-quality well-being content written by experts for the fraction of the cost of hiring a generic content writer.
