When you can better process your negative emotions, you can more easily cope with negative situations and more easily capitalize on positive situations in your life.
Activity: Healthy emotion processingIn this activity, you'll learn about the emotional processes that help you better manage your emotions. For each process, rate how often you engage in it. Then try to recall a time when you engaged in it. Finally, come up with an action plan for how you will strengthen this process.
For example, you could set a daily alarm on your watch to remind you to ask yourself if you are you using this process. Or, whenever you eat a certain food, you could use that to remind you to engage in a specific emotional process. This practice will help make these healthy processes more automatic.
