(And sometimes, I just let them hang upside down off the couch because hey, at least we were still having the conversation we needed to have!)
I ultimately found that working with children, at least as a psychologist, was not a good fit for me. Truth be told, it is not a good fit for most people; trust me, working with adults on their mental health challenges is hard enough! But we desperately need child psychologists, especially as children and adolescents around the world continue to grapple with the impacts of COVID-19 on their education and their social development.
