Savoring The Moment
Some of the skill-building activities on this website help you develop greater potential for happiness - for example, skills like growth mindset. Other skills help you directly increase you happiness in the moment. One of those skills is savoring.
Savoring is when you intentionally try to make positive emotions last longer or be stronger. Regularly engaging in savoring has been shown to contribute to improved well-being, so let’s practice savoring.
In this activity, you will spend 10 minutes writing about a happy, joyful or pleasant event that happened earlier THIS WEEK.
For example, you could write about: “A good conversation you had with a friend.”
Keep in mind that you can continue practicing savoring by completing the exercise you just did, or you can practice savoring in the moment by actively holding onto the emotions, thoughts, and feelings of your positive experiences.
