When we imagine things, our brains experience them as if they are real. So when we imagine the best version of ourselves, our brains can begin to build pathways that support us becoming that person. So let's try this activity now.
Activity: Imagine your best possible self
In this activity, you will imagine the best possible version of yourself in the future. Try to be as specific as possible about what you will be like in a future where you are truly happy. For example, if you want a stronger relationship with your child, imagine and write about what you would do together, what you would say, and the emotions you would have. Spend the next 10 minutes thinking and writing about your best possible future self.
